Name Ryan SumoAbout I'm an artist/writer currently residing in the humid, sun blasted tropical wilderness that is the Philippines. I have been involved with numerous local mobile game development companies, and was on the verge of making millions by being part of the next big game to hit the DS. However, said game was never published, so I'm back to scraping by on freelance work till the next big thing comes knocking again. I also dabble in writing on the side, with my most notable achievement being an article in the Escapist online magazine. Some glowing reviews from previous employers: “Complete workaholic, who frequently delivered a little extra just to make sure things were awesome? Dedicated professional, who makes games out of love and knows which way the wind is blowing? An eager learner, who takes the feedback from senior guys like gold? I greatly enjoyed working with Ryan. He is clearly going places. I hope to get a chance to work together in the future.” Trevor Stricker, Founder, Disco Pixel It was a pleasure working with Ryan. He operates in a very timely manner (I received almost daily deliveries of game art), and was very responsive to changes that I requested or additional art that I asked for. He also adapted his art style to match my own cartoon style - when you look at the game, everything blends together nicely. You can't really tell which pieces I did and which ones he did (though to be honest, he did clean up my Rick Rocket cartoon drawing by adding some much-needed shading). Additionally, he made a number of art-related suggestions for improving the game, which contributed to its success (like showing damage on the ships as they are hit). I will definitely be using Ryan again on future projects, and I highly recommend him. Troy Hepfner, Owner, My Games Company |
